Oil analysis
Oil analysis is a predictive maintenance tool insofar as it can reduce the severity of machine failures and allows scheduling maintenance activities. It is also a proactive maintenance technique that helps reduce component failure rates and operating costs.
The concept of analyzing an oil sample from a machine or component is similar to taking a blood sample from a human body - the results determine the health status of the unit. Our experienced diagnostic team recommends how to rectify any abnormal results.
- •Lubricating Oil (automotive, industrial, mining, etc.)
- •For use on mobile equipment such as earthmoving machines, trucks, buses, light vehicles and generators.
- •For use on industrial gearboxes, hydraulics, compressors, pumps, turbines, heat transfer fluids, bearing compartments, air conditioning, recirculation and refrigeration systems.
- •Dielectric: analysis is carried out on oil samples from components used in the production, storage and transport of electricity (transformers, tap changers and switching gears).

LUBRICATING OIL (automotive, industrial, mining...)
A predictive maintenance tool in that it allows reducing the severity of machine failures and scheduling maintenance activities. It is also a proactive maintenance technique that helps reduce component failure rates and operating costs.
The concept of analyzing a sample of oil from a machine or a component is similar to that of a blood test in the human body - the results determine the health status of the unit. Our laboratory's experienced diagnostic team then recommends.
Used oil analysis diagnosis serves three purposes:
- To check the health of the oil
- To check the health of the machines lubricated by the oil
- To measure contamination levels
The tests performed on a sample are determined by the type of machine, component and oil. They measure:
- •Wear metals
- •Contaminants: dirt, water, fuel, soot, coolant
- •Additives
- •Cleanliness level
Oil analysis: viscosity at 40° and 100°C, acidity level, water in ppm by Karl Fischer titration, Total Base Number (TBN), Total Acid Number (TAN).

Analysis and diagnostic of dielectric fluids (transformer oil)
Dielectric fluid analysis measures several indicators that, according to their severity, reveal different types of anomalies (electrical defects, thermal defects, premature aging, loss of insulating capacity).
Parameters analyzed
- •Water content: moisture level of the dielectric liquid
- •Color and appearance: clarity and absence of abnormal compounds
- •Dielectric strength (breakdown voltage)
- •Acid number: acidity and degradation level
- •Dissolved gas measurement: quantification of gases from transformer defects
- •Furan derivatives: estimation of degradation and residual life of cellulose insulation
- •PCB analysis
Based on the results from our laboratory, our team provides a detailed diagnosis on the aging condition of the dielectric fluid and personalized recommendations for the conditional maintenance of your electrical installations.

analyse liquide de refroidissement
It is imperative to monitor the performance of an engine's cooling system, as research shows that 40 to 60% of diesel engine failures are caused by a defective cooling system. Without proper maintenance, cooling systems can lead to overheating, overcooling, pitting, cavitation erosion, cracked heads, piston seizure, reduced critical clearances, low oil viscosity, increased wear and clogged radiators.
Observed effects
- •Acid/alkalinity imbalance (corrosion)
- •Scale and deposit formation (blockages)
- •Electrolytic corrosion (electrolysis)
- •Cavitation erosion (coating pitting)
- •Galvanic corrosion and additive loss
- •Aeration (erosion), rusting
Parameters to analyze
- •Glycol % (ASTM D3306)
- •pH (ASTM D1287)
- •Nitrate ppm (in-house)
- •Molybdate ppm (in-house)
- •TDS Total Dissolved Solids ppm (OEM)
- •Foam (in-house)
- •Other parameters: Freeze Point, Boil Point

WearCheck training
Lubrication fundamentals and report interpretation
WearCheck training
WearCheck has developed specialized training courses to help customers gain maximum advantage from their oil analysis programme. These courses are based on a partnership philosophy and on the belief that teams that understand and commit to oil analysis principles achieve better results than those with limited procedural knowledge. The courses improve understanding of system operation and confidence, leading to fewer mistakes, higher productivity and significant maintenance cost savings.
Training focus
- •FUNDAMENTALS OF LUBRICATION AND OIL ANALYSIS
- •REPORT INTERPRETATION
